The Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement in Ireland was set up by the Irish Government on November 28, 2001. The Director seeks to foster compliance with the law and the consequences of non-compliance through presentations, public communication, consultation with professional bodies and engagement with all branches of government that facilitate compliance. The ODCE is also charged with the role of enforcement and its powers in this regard are quite extensive.
